About Murder Weapon:
Murder Weapon was formed in early 1997 by Christopher Ashley (Bass/Vocals/Tapes), Peter Cooper (Guitar) and Travis Cukrowicz (Drums). Murder Weapon combined the intensity of Minor Threat and Man is the Bastard with the pummeling ferocity of early Swans and Unsane. As a trio Murder Weapon recorded a 4 song demo cassette and released it in minimal quantities. Murder Weapon continue to play any show that would have them, falling into the South Carolina hardcore scene. Late 1997 saw Murder Weapon add second vocalist Kinsey Gibson and second drummer Taj Elliot (then known as Scott Campbell). The band continued with their earlier noise-rock tendencies and added elements of grind, power violence and hardcore. Now armed with two vocalists and a double drumming attack, Murder Weapon recorded their 7" “Our Feet Are Planted on Enemy Soil" for KFLR-USA (then known as Frank Lentini Records) at the Jam Room with Jay Matheson in Columbia, SC. In spring of 1998, Gibson left the band, leaving it a quartet. Murder Weapon continued to play shows and recorded an unreleased LP “Rampage on an English Village" with this lineup. Murder Weapon broke up in June 1998 when both Elliot and Cukrowicz moved to Hawaii and Ashley moved to Charleston, SC subsequently forming Index for Potential Suicide.
