I,II,III, qui réunit les trois premières créations du one-man band Baphomorph, est une étrangeté chez Grime Stone Records, le doom metal n'étant pas le genre le plus représenté au sein du label, mais c'est encore plus une étrangeté en soi car Baphomorph est un artiste qui transcende le genre. Non seulement le doom metal peut se transformer à l'envi en funeral doom ou en black metal dans de superbes spirales, mais il incorpore aussi une chiptune qui amplifie la dépression ambiante. On m'a souvent répété : "tu verras : quand tu vieilliras, tu seras de droite" (que Dieu ou je ne sais quelle entité céleste si elle existe m'en préserve). Du coup, en écoutant F.B.I, je me suis posé une question : est-ce la vieillesse qui rend les vampires si acariâtres ? Dans cet E.P., Abysmal Specter nous fait profiter d'un raw black metal vampirique mais il est hyper dynamique avec des riffs qui sortent tout droit du rock'n'roll et du skate punk : bref, c'est une énergie juvénile. Efficace !
